Summary
AlterMate only uses the data necessary to create your account, maintain your conversations, remember the context you have shared, manage credits, and protect the service. We do not sell your data or use your conversations for targeted advertising.
Data we process
We store your email address, a cryptographically protected version of your password - never the password in plain text - active sessions, credit balance, and credit transactions. We also store your messages, character responses, memories derived from conversations, reports you submit, and technical usage and cost metrics.
Security and operation
To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, we may temporarily process your IP address, basic device or user-agent information, session identifiers, error logs, and requests. We do not request access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone, or personal files.
Service providers
Content required to generate a response may be sent to providers of artificial intelligence models and embedding services. We use database infrastructure and vector storage. If you make purchases, Google Play and RevenueCat process payment and transaction information; AlterMate does not receive your full payment card details.
Purposes
We process this data to authenticate you, provide the chat service, preserve continuity and memory, calculate credits, process purchases, handle reports, fix errors, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as you maintain your account. You can delete your account from Profile > Delete account. Your account, sessions, conversations, messages, and associated memories will be deleted. Certain minimal billing or security records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, anti-fraud, or dispute-resolution purposes. Google Play and RevenueCat apply their own retention periods.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data and withdraw applicable consent. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription: you must also manage it through Google Play.
Minors
The service is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
We may update this policy if the service, providers, or legal obligations change. We will display the date of the current version.
